Thank God for the grace to follow through. It’s been a while since I journaled about my Bible study, and today’s reading, Numbers 3 was such a reminder of how deeply intentional God is. At first glance, the chapter might seem like a list of names and numbers, but looking closer, I saw so much of God’s character revealed. The chapter outlines how specific tasks in the sanctuary were assigned to each clan of the Levites. It also explains how, because every firstborn son in Israel belongs to God (dating back to when He spared them during the final plague in Egypt), He chose to take the Levites in their place to serve Him. The number of Levite males (one month and older) was 22,000, while the firstborn males from the rest of the Israelites were 22,273. Though that difference seems small, God still accounted for it, redeeming the extra 273 through five shekels per person. The same principle was applied to the livestock. Nothing was overlooked. Why is this significant? 1. Delegation: We se...

A Full Circle

Remember this post ? Today is my birthday, and as I look back on my journey, I’m realizing just how everything that’s happened to me—and for me—has been part of God’s divine plan. It feels like I’ve come full circle! Right now, I’m living in the middle of answered prayers. Everything I’ve ever hoped for, prayed for, or dreamed about is right here in front of me. You know that verse in Romans 8:28 that says, “All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose”? That’s my life right now! I can hardly put into words how grateful I am. I’ve got tears streaming down my face—not from waiting for that big break—but from being absolutely awestruck by all the blessings God has showered upon me. Honestly, I couldn’t have written a better script. Every pain, every trial, every encounter makes so much sense now. God, you’re truly sovereign! One of the best parts about walking with God is that we can’t really mess it up. Even when we stumble or make...

Empathy

This too shall pass. It’s easier to say this when you’re no longer in a difficult phase, but it’s not always easy to believe it yourself when the light at the end of the tunnel seems distant. Every test and trial is meant to stretch us, and no matter how much stretching you’ve experienced in the past, a new challenge can still feel overwhelming. Life isn’t built to be easy, and everyone faces their own struggles. You may not relate to someone’s challenge, but that doesn’t mean their situation is any easier or less significant. Some might argue that financial problems are the easiest to overcome, while others might contend that health issues are the worst. Yet, others might say that having money solves health problems, and there are those who struggle with identity crises, isolation, social pressure, or a lack of self-actualization. The list of challenges is endless, and no one struggle is inherently better or worse than another. It’s important not to diminish someone’s difficulty ...

Update

I remember writing this POST years back when I was devastated about life. I couldn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel and couldn’t fathom how my life trajectory would get better. Looking back, I can totally understand the quote that says we can only understand the plans and intentionality of God in hindsight. All the struggles, the pain, the fear, and silent battles I went through all make sense now - they all add up in retrospect. God is intentional, fam! It feels like a web; everything is interconnected - the providence of God. We might not know exactly how our lives might turn out, but keep trusting in God even when it doesn’t make sense because literally, all good and perfect gifts come from Him, and His timing is perfect. I’ve come to realize that faith looks/feels different at different moments in one's life. Some days it feels calm - that feeling of 'whatever happens, I know I’ll be fine because I have God by my side.' Other days, it might feel like a struggle...

Radiance

Happiness is a choice, and life is an adventure. Amid the challenges, it's crucial to break free from the confines of our immediate circumstances and recognize the vastness of life. There's so much more beyond our daily struggles, more experiences, and more people in the world than our immediate community. When life feels tough, it's time to zoom out, realizing this is just a phase. The world doesn't revolve solely around our immediate environment; there are endless possibilities waiting to be explored. Reflecting on the year, it's been beyond imagination, filled with deep gratitude and humility. Doing life with Jesus has proven to be the best journey. The biggest lesson? Self-acceptance, self-awareness, and patience. I started reading books this year, and I wonder why I didn't start earlier - books are amazing! The Bible, in particular, is so practical; daily studying unveils life's lessons written right there. I'm aging like fine wine. No matter how yo...

Acceptance

Over the past week, I've experienced a significant strain on both my mental and physical well-being. It's tempting to fall into the habit of blaming myself, as I've done in the past, for things that were beyond my control or for not having knowledge I couldn't possibly possess. I've told myself that I'm responsible for overextending myself to others, failing to establish healthy boundaries, and not recognizing when to strike a balance, instead of relentlessly working as if my life depended on it. I've also blamed myself for not understanding how a functional structure should be, how to approach various situations, and the right timing for these actions. This constant self-criticism led me to a place of self-doubt and a lack of trust in my own decision-making abilities. It felt as though I was seeking validation from close friends and family because I couldn't trust myself to make the right choices. However, today, I found solace in prayer and acknowledge...

Intentional

The story of Samson is well-known, but a recent revisit left me feeling as though the Holy Spirit was guiding me toward a deeper understanding. It became evident that God does not waste anything; every seemingly mundane aspect of our lives serves a purpose within His ultimate plan. The Bible reminds us, " For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts " (Isaiah 55:9). Samson's tale begins with his unexpected affection for a Philistine woman, a choice that left his parents perplexed. They couldn't fathom why he would marry from a tribe that oppressed their own, especially when there were plenty of suitable women within their own people. However, in Judges 14:4, we find an intriguing revelation: " His parents did not know that this was from the Lord, who was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines; for at the time they were ruling over Israel. " This unexpected twist illustrates the...

but God.

God blew my mind!  I vividly recall the morning of June 28th, a day that started with an immense surge of energy and a strong desire to make the most of it. After a refreshing shower, I prayed, and read a chapter from Bob Goff’s Undistracted, I also shared inspiring thoughts on twitter and even updated my blog. Had a satisfying meal of white rice, stew, and chicken. Life felt good, and I held onto my fragile thread of faith with contentment. However, the course of the day took an unexpected turn when a friend called with unsettling news that shattered the thread of faith I had been holding onto. I could almost physically sense my chest splitting open and my faith crumbling away. At that juncture, any semblance of hope or faith felt burdensome, beyond my capacity to bear. The pain of faith weighed heavily, and despite my heart's whispered encouragement to persevere, my inner strength was fractured. I knelt down and had an honest conversation with God. I expressed my inability to con...

Reflection

Everyone's life follows a unique path filled with diverse experiences. If we constantly compare ourselves to others, we'll only end up getting distracted and denying ourselves the joy and excitement that our own journey can bring. Personally, my life has been like a rollercoaster ride. Some days, I feel highly motivated, while on other days, I feel discouraged and dejected. The truth is, if we measure our lives based on societal standards, we'll miss out on what truly matters. Each person is different, and if we take the time to introspect, we might discover that we desire something different, something subtle or unconventional. However, for some reason, we often find ourselves following the same path because it's culturally accepted. Today, I find solace in being comfortable in my own skin and viewing my experiences as sources of joy. There's one particular thing that used to frustrate me, an unavoidable part of my daily routine, and I always dreaded it. But today,...

Growth

"God, I am afraid, but I know I shouldn’t live by sight but by faith. I don’t know how I am meant to sustain this faith for so long because I am genuinely running out of it. Just like the widow with a son told Elijah - she had just her last meal before she would probably starve with her son - but she was willing to share (1 Kings 17:7-16). In the same way, this little ounce of hope left in me, I lay it before the throne of grace because at this point, it is only by your grace that I am still sane. I watched a sermon that talked about acknowledging the fear but declining to have a "facetime" with it. Basically, not lying to yourself that the fear isn't there but refusing to entertain it. The Bible says - casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). So basically the Bible acknowledges that these thoughts (strongholds) will come, but w...

Relax

This article was originally written in mid-May 2022, but it wasn't posted because I've been a little off-kilter.     For me, the journey has been like riding a roller coaster. Fair enough, this year has been great, and I still have my hopes set on more fantastic things. Recently, I've been a little more deliberate about the bible verses I study; I simply google what I feel like studying and, most of the time, I receive fantastic articles that I use to "hold body" for that day. The day before yesterday, it was the Joseph narrative; I already knew how it turned out, but I still needed some inspiration to get through the day. Reading those site pages made me feel as though I were being mirrored — you know, that sense of hoping your life would go in a certain path, just like Joseph felt after having that dream of ruling over his brothers. According to what I've read, Joseph appears to be in a good place; after all, being the beloved child of a successful m...

Sincerity

Some days it's a lot harder to believe that God genuinely loves you. I know it's hard to admit but when your insecurities creep in, it messes with your head, making the daily miracles in your life seem mundane. You then convince yourself that if God had answered your big prayers, these seemingly little ones would have been non-existent. I slept feeling great about myself but I woke up feeling so inadequate. I tried reading scriptures on God’s love for me but I kept seeing God’s love for “us”, “the world”, it was not personalized, I needed something to hold on to. Although I am aware that “us” referred to in the Bible technically means me but I was not having it. My mind was clouded with these thoughts “I just do not care about the world right now; I am not interested in Your love for the world but your love for me! I need You to love me and not the world. Can’t you see I need you?! Focus on me! - I am falling apart”. I have always felt scared admitting in my prayers t...

Breathe Him

“His strength is made perfect in our weakness;  2 Corin 12:9” This is one phrase I always felt I understood not until lately, I’ve literally been living it and it opened my eyes to a whole new perspective of its meaning. Going through my daily life, I usually get faced with seemly overwhelming situations where my strength fails me, and most times the stress from these activities or just an event might ruin the whole day. But lately, at any glimpse of an overwhelming situation or decision, I literally run to God and just throw myself at His Feet; acknowledging I need His help and the honest truth is not once haven’t He come through. It just feels like everything just instantly aligns on its own miraculously. I’m grateful that I’m getting accustomed to running to Him first before making any decision or just when I feel so overwhelmed. I feel more connected like my steps are ordered; you know that subtle affirmation that no matter what it looks like outwardly, something spectacular is...

Pace of Grace

Walking in the pace of grace; this will be a little mash-up from some of the teachings I’ve been privileged to listen to. Just the other day I watched two amazing poets speak with so much grace, I stood there staring at my phone in awe of how a person could be this poised. I started having this lingering inside of me on how being a spoken word artist might be an amazing career for me. There’re so many other people in their respective fields that excel so greatly in it that makes you just look up to them or desire to be more like them. This struck a chord in me; that what matters is doing what God has called you to do, and that’s the only thing you can do eloquently without much strife or struggle. The truth is we all want to do what God has called us to do but the only problem is that most times it seems blurry; we don’t even know what He has called us to do and this is where the title of this post came from ( I’m getting pretty good with this title thing ). God equips us for the pur...

Intimacy

Today’s the last day of January 2021 and I’m so elated! this month has been awesome!!! I came to the realisation that most times we spend so much time living under the rules and dogma set by religious denominations that we end up neglecting our personal time/walk with God. Have you ever had the time to think of why there are denominational barriers in the church? Since we basically serve the same God and believe in His son Jesus Christ, why do we have denominations that believe they are superior to the other, or are more Christian or spiritual than the other. A quote by Bob Goff; one of my favourite authors reads “Jesus doesn’t turn people into Christians; He turns them into love” The two main commandments of Jesus which every other commandments are embedded in are the love of God and love of neighbour. I am not objecting doctrines of the church or anything but you might not have noticed that we spend more time living up to these dogmas instead of reflecting Jesus through our daily liv...

Trust

Hey you! This is basically our first encounter this year. A lot has already happened in the span of two weeks. I perceive an adventurous and exciting year for us all. You know how paranoid and anxious I get but guess what? I have been evolving😹.  You have to come to the realisation that God loves you more than you can ever love yourself. I know this sounds cliché but hold on; you already know that God loves you blah blah…, but have you ever taken the time to critically think it through that He actually loves me more than I can ever possibly love myself. So He basically “carry my matter for head”.  Visualize this; you love yourself and you’re always stressing about what the future holds for you, striving, planning and all those stuffs you do because you want a better life for yourself. And there’s this big guy that literally created/owns the world and can basically do whatever He wants with it, He sees the end from the beginning; meaning that He knows the outcome of every path...

Surrendering

Surrendering is really an easy thing to say but definitely hard to live up to, even though it’s one of the most relieving decisions one can make. We go through life, constantly working tirelessly for a breakthrough or what we presume to be a better life, but when your efforts always seem futile and motivations are really low. You start doubting yourself and competence, insecurities start piling up. Most times you’re tired of studying the word or even praying, and it gets worse when the situation persist. You’ve heard the same words of encouragement severally that you know exactly what each person is about to say without blinking an eyelid.  That’s when opinions and conspiracy theories start rolling in; it gets really hard most times to block the noise or stay sane. You get to even question your spiritual life and your standings with God; crazy stuff yeah . Some days you’re excited, in a high spirit with the firm confidence that God sees you, while other days it’s a battle to stay s...

Ahava (אהבה)

I strongly believe that God gives us struggles in life to increase our love for each other. What I’m  trying to say is most times its hard to have a bit of understanding what others might be going through if we do not have an idea how devastating it feels to walk on their shoes, it might not necessarily be similar events but it gives us a glimpse of idea. This basically makes one more compassionate than he would normally have been. We become a lot patient and kind to others, a little less judgy and open minded, realizing that sometimes life isn’t always black and white. People go through so much that most times they coat it with outward smiles while others don’t, we all have different ways of reacting to things.  It also opens our eyes and heart to a lot of things that we would normally neglect, like family and  friends (the right support system). Right now I honestly cannot imagine how horrifying life would have been if I didn’t have my parents or siblings that always pr...

Breathe

So I had one of the multiple disappointments I’ve been having for years now. At first I felt numb, then alone, had to call a close friend to cry so I could release the pressure stuck in my chest, I felt like suffocating 😂#Lol I obviously had a good cry, one of those relieving tears, good thing he allowed me to have my full. I  discovered how therapeutic tears are. Well, as always I thank God for the disappointments, they  aren’t funny one bit, but all I can think of now is how blessed I am. I know this sounds cliché because I’m actually typing this with so much tears rolling down my chubby cheeks. But what can I do!. Who can I blame, definitely not me because I put in so much effort into this. I literally gave it my best shot. And I can’t blame God, He’s God obviously, even though He said He would never leave me nor forsake me but the truth is I feel so disappointed but not abandoned.  This is crazy, like I feel Him comforting me with that subtle peace in my heart but I’...
